Summer Tips
Summer is here and we need your help. A
great looking lawn requires teamwork. We are counting on you to periodically
walk through your lawn and monitor the health of your plants. Here are
some things to look for:
Water: Are your plants getting enough
water? What about coverage, are there any areas that the irrigation system
is missing? As our climate changes you will need to adjust the timer on
your irrigation system-have you done this? Look at our
Watering
Tips for more information.
Turf: How does it look? We are seeing some
fungus/disease problems and these can damage turf quickly. You will find
some helpful pictures at our Fungus Information
section. Nutsedge is beginning to be a nuisance. Check out ways to combat
it in our Nutsedge Information section.
Mulch: Has your mulch become compressed and
compacted? Does water just run off the top? Now is a great time to
cultivate your mulch beds. Summer mulch turning brings the darker mulch
from the bottom and rotates it to the top. This helps to break it down
into a very useable biodegradable product and allows water to be absorbed into
the root system of your plants.
Annual flowers: Are they hungry? Now is a great
time to fertilize your annuals-call us to schedule this service.
We appreciate you taking the time to observe
your lawn. Please feel free to phone us with any questions you may have (636)
