Now that you’ve parked your lawn mower for the winter what
should you do?
- Drain the gasoline from the tank.
Try using a turkey baster to get all that gas out.
- Once a year replace the oil.
(Frequently check and maintain proper levels
throughout the season.)
- Replace the airfilter. (Filter
should be cleaned frequently during the mowing
season.)
- Spray the cylinder with a little
oil (WD40) to keep moisture out.
- Sharpen the blade.
- If you have small children
consider disconnecting the spark plug wire to
prevent inadvertent start-ups.
You follow these same guidelines when storing your gas powered
blowers and string trimmers.
